How would the blog be beneficial in the classroom
Using the blog in the classroom would be beneficial to all, but for those who need some scaffolding and mentoring, the blog will come in handy. Here the blog would be able to motivate the non participants, the slow learners and those who just didn't understand the lesson . Instructions will be placed on the blog for them to follow.
The blog can also be used as a peer to peer review, in cases where group assignments, and research are given, group members will have the opportunity to meet online and discuss their findings. In the mean time i'll be able to contribute.
I think the blog is a great idea.

ReplyDeleteSuggestion though, you may want to screen how the group assignments are done... you could even introduce google docs..

you've said it all and i am sure that all these will be beneficial to the students. Be sure to keep a check point on the peer work of your students
ReplyDeleteyour use in the classroom will be very beneficial to your students and since we live in a tecnological era i am sure that your students will appreciate this avenue, but for the students who are non-participants in the class, i think you would have to help them to understand that it will be beneficial for them to ask questons and contribute since they will be aware of the fact that the other students will be able to read and critique their questions or comments.
